ISSUE 24 : How Lacking Sounds Become Events?
How to be Changed by the World – Chinese Sound Practices in Reality (a-f)
怎樣被世界改變—現實中的中國聲音實踐a-f
January 15th, 2016Type: Sound Scene
Author: 顏峻
Note: "How it’s Changed by the World – Sound Practice in China in Reality” is a series of writings by Chinese (sound) artist & poet Yan Jun, 18,000 words in total. It delves into the music and sound relevant to China, as well as the author’s varied practices. In contrast to what we know about art critics, his writing is based upon “scenes” & the author’s “personal experience”, and constructs an understanding named by “reality”, yet very “heterogeneous” & complementary: as if a world of writing unfolds outside the reality of art.
