介紹：
1936年，台灣總督小林躋造以「皇民化、工業化、南進基地化」作為治台三原則，宣示將臺灣打造成執行「南進政策」的基地。20世紀初日本帝國以「南進」作為經營台灣的官方政策主軸，如同《南進臺灣》（1939～1940）國策片結尾的鏡頭指出海洋為朝向南方的必要宣示。始自2017年的《群島資料庫》計劃，則試圖以「馬來群島」和「資料庫」作為實踐藝術史解殖的框架和方法。通過區域共享歷史的比較閱讀，串連在民族主義視野下的「 其餘（the rest）」共同體想像，並邀請本地與東南亞藝術家協作書寫／提案，探問此種前民族主義的進路如何體現超越民族國 家視野的動能。
