The Discontinuous Memories: The Sound Portraits in Chu ChunTeng’s Parellel
記憶不連續—關於《八月十五》中的聲音場景
August 23rd, 2017Type: Sound Scene
Author: Lin, Yi-shiu Editor: Rikey Tenn
Note: Chu ChunTeng’s solo exhibition is developed and converted from his volunteering experience and observation in a dementia care home, after getting to know the patients and their family, in Hsinchu in the past one year. The sound design in the work revealed the different statuses of the subject and object. In the author’s opinion, the design to separate the visual and the sound installation deliberately makes the talking sounds, which should have been in the same time space of the viewers, chopped and scattered in the space, which results in diffusion of the distance kept and the sense of space.
